Anglian Water is celebrating after being named Responsible Business of the Year at the Business in the Community Responsible Business Awards.

The award recognises companies that put social and environmental concerns at the heart of their strategy. Anglian Water was chosen for its Love Every Drop project, to create a resilient environment that allows sustainable growth and can cope with the pressures of climate change.

Anglian Water chief executive Peter Simpson said: “Through innovation and collaboration we’ve delivered a total transformation of our business with leading performance in reducing leakage, reducing our carbon footprint and energy usage, supporting education and careers in science, engineering and technology.”

Firm LSI Architects was also nominated for an award for its use of technology in making buildings more environmentally friendly.
