Another Norwich business has joined the ranks of companies commended by a scheme helping young people in the city into work.

Validus was presented with a Norwich for Jobs silver award in recognition of its efforts over the past year to provide training and support.

The Norwich for Jobs initiative has so far helped 2,000 young people into work

Edwyn van Rooyen, cofounder of Validus, a claims management solutions company, said: 'The Norwich for Jobs scheme represents an excellent opportunity not only to provide training, support, and employment for young people in Norwich but also allows our employees to develop their mentorship skills and give back to the local community.'

Norwich North MP Chloe Smith, who presented the award, said: 'Major locally-based businesses are playing an active role in Norwich for Jobs and equipping young people with new and important skills applicable to a variety of industries.

'As one of the founders of this scheme, I'm delighted to see local businesses giving back to the community and helping to develop the next generation of talent in Norwich. That's why it's a pleasure to recognise these important contributions.'
