Norfolk's largest skills and careers festival has got under way.

More than 5,000 students and young people from Norfolk and Suffolk schools are expected to attend the festival at the Norfolk Showground, where recruiters from more than 100 different types of career from accountancy and engineering to hospitality will be exhibiting.

Now in its third year, the festival is supported by a coalition including Aviva, Easton and Otley College, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, Morgan Sindall, Norse, Pickr and Hoseasons.

Festival director Mark Nicholas said: 'We are thrilled that the Norfolk Skills and Careers Festival continues to go from strength to strength. It has become the largest event of its kind in Norfolk. The event is organised by a coalition of willing partners and is a great example of collaborative leadership in bringing people together to help nurture the next generation. We should all be really proud of what Norfolk has to offer'.

Easton and Otley College spokesperson John Nice said: 'Education, industry and the local community have come together to give thousands of young people in Norfolk independent careers advice that will help them make informed decisions about their futures.'
