The newest Tesco store in Norwich will open next week, but has to first secure permission from the city council in order to sell alcohol.
The store in Dereham Road, on the corner with Old Palace Road, will open on Friday, November 4.
But before bosses can sell alcohol, which they want to do between 6am and 11pm each day, it needs to get a premises licence from Norwich City Council.
The city council's licensing sub-committee will meet on Thursday, November 3 to decide whether to award the licence.
