Companies in the East of England’s energy supply chain can come face-to-face with major oil and gas operators at a Meet the Buyer event focused on the Southern North Sea (SNS).
Eleven operators active in the SNS have confirmed that they will attend the one-day event in Norwich, to discuss how the region's supply chain can help their future plans.
The event is being hosted by the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), in association with the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA).
Operators will also share their forecasts and upcoming projects, to bolster links between SNS operators and their supply chain.
Companies including ENI, Spirit (formerly Centrica), Shell, Premier Oil, Independent Oil and Gas and Perenco will attend the event, taking place at Carrow Road between 9.15am and 5pm on April 18.
Simon Gray, EEEGR chief executive, said the aim of the event was to improve the quality and quantity of information to suppliers on the activity plans of operators and major contractors, particularly as "green shoots" begin to re-emerge in the sector.
It will also stimulate discussion between business and clients to address some of the challenges facing the sector.
"This is the largest oil and gas Meet the Buyer event focused solely on gas producers in the SNS. It gives companies of all sizes the chance to hear from traditional and new oil and gas companies about their forward plans for the near future and take away really important information about projects coming to tender.
"They will receive reliable market intelligence as well as the opportunity to meet potential new clients and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
"What is important for SMEs is the opportunity to hear about any innovations that operators and Tier 1 contractors are looking for. Supply chain companies might have and be developing technologies; this is the perfect opportunity to bring your new technology, system, process or innovation to the attention of these bigger players."
Supply chain companies will hear 15-minute presentations by operators, take part in a series of 'open ideas forums' and then have one-to-one pre-booked appointments.
