New city centre shop is a ‘dream come true’ for Norwich retail queen

A Norwich-based jewellery and accessories brand has launched its second permanent shop in the city.
Lisa Angel’s new outlet in Intu Chapelfield officially opened to the public on Thursday, September 13.
It marked 10 years since the company set up its ground floor stand in the shopping centre, following two years selling products from a table in the dining terrace.
The launch of Lisa Angel’s permanent Chapelfield stand in 2008 came with growth in its product ranges and workforce, and was followed by the opening of its first bricks-and-mortar shop in Lower Goat lane in 2011.
From one determined woman making jewellery on her living room floor, Lisa Angel has grown into a global business with a £5m turnover and 96 staff working on product design, manufacture and ordering, and online and in-store sales.
The business was an early adopter of online selling, through Not On The High Street, and has since signed up to sell its products on Australian site Hard To Find.
Founder and director Lisa Angel said: “I was always so grateful to be given the original opportunity in the dining terrace at Chapelfield in 2006, but it has always been our dream to eventually open up a store here.
“Ten years on from the opening of our permanent stand in Chapelfield, and here we are.
“This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Intu and of course our wonderful customers.”
Lisa Angel was a member of the Future50 group of Norfolk and Suffolk’s most ambitious businesses in 2015, and the following year won an EDP Business Award in the Investing in Future Growth category.
The new shop, which will create up to four jobs, will offer customers the opportunity to have jewellery items hand-stamped with their chosen personalisation in-store.
In the run-up to Christmas its ground floor stand in Chapelfield will be revamped into a “personalisation station” to create personalised baubles and gifts.
Lisa Angel’s focus on personalisation made it a hit with Not On The High Street customers and also helped it secure deals for in-store stands with Topshop, with which it has a presence in outlets in Norwich, Manchester and London, and Next.
