A publishing boss and a motor sport veteran are among the new appointments to the board of a Norfolk boat builder.

Oyster Yachts has brought new directors on board following its rescue out of administration by gaming industry entrepreneur Richard Hadida in March.

New board members include Ashley Highfield, former chief executive of UK newspaper publisher Johnston Press, motor racing industry boss and Oyster yacht owner Eddie Jordan, leading yacht designer Rob Humphreys and international investment banker Ivan Ritossa.

Chief executive Mr Hadida said the appointments were a “perfect fit”. “They bring extensive industry expertise and corporate experience. Most importantly, all board members are a great cultural fit. Their passion for sailing and the Oyster brand is clear,” he said.

The Southampton-based firm restarted production at its Hoveton boatyard in May.
