A Norfolk band literally turned Norwich City legend Bryan Gunn green and yellow yesterday in support of his leukaemia appeal.

The-Colour, a group of devoted Norwich City fans recorded the video to their song Who Are Ya? in a squash court at Barnham Broom Hotel.

Drummer Scott Field incorporated his drummatic art into the video whereby his sticks were linked to bags of green and yellow paint which showered the room as he played.

All profits from the song will be donated to Bryan Gunn’s appeal, a charity he founded with his wife Susan in 1993 to fund research into the cause and cure of leukaemia. The couple started the charity after their daughter, Francesca, died from leukaemia in 1992 when she was just two years old.

The former Norwich City star showed his support by getting covered in paint while chanting “Who are ya?” into the camera.

Mr Gunn said: “‘Who are ya?’ is something I heard many times from away fans.

“This is probably the craziest thing I have done for my
charity.

“Hopefully Norwich City fans will buy the song. They are great musicians and Norwich City fans as well. We need to get to number one in Norfolk.”

Mr Gunn also showed support for another local act and wore a Ronan Parke T-shirt.

James Poole, who wrote the song and provided the vocals, said: “I feel like the song has reached a peak. We want to raise the profile for his charity. We are achieving what we want to. When we first sat down the idea was how can we big up the profile of the charity.

“It is great to have Gunny in the video. He is a hero. I remember shaking his hand after the testimonial match.”

Who Are Ya? has attracted much debate online between Norwich City fans and on their YouTube channel. James said: “We have had people from Japan, India, Mexico, Spain – you name it – who don’t even know who Norwich City are but they love the song. That is also how we are raising the profile of the club.

“We think Who Are Ya? is very marketable. All the profits from our sales go to Bryan Gunn’s charity.”

The video will also feature footage of Norwich City fans who submitted videos of themselves shouting: “Who are ya?”
