Windows firm Anglian Building Products enjoyed a bumper end to 2009 after securing three major contracts in a boost to job security.

The company, the business and public sector contracts arm of Anglian Home Improvements, won major deals with Glasgow Housing Association, Mansell Construction Services and an extension to an existing contract with Sanctuary Housing Association in the last two months of the year.

The 3m Glasgow deal will see the company replace timber framed windows with PVC-u double glazing in about 1,400 homes across the city over the next two years.

Anglian, which employs 120 at its Norwich headquarters and more than 2,500 nationally, was also awarded the final phase of a window contract by Mansell as part of the 127m 600 home Liberty Village housing development at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.

The value of the contract has not been confirmed, but the company was chosen to deliver all five phases of the housing contract at the site.

In a third boost the company also secured an extension to its existing windows contract with national social housing landlord Sanctuary Housing Association, believed to be worth in excess of 1m a year.

Noel Shapton, Anglian Building Products sales director, said: 'Even in what are difficult economic times Anglian Building Products is still successful in securing additional business.

'We are proud of our achievements and of our contract wins.

'While these contracts will not involve additional jobs in East Anglia it will mean more jobs elsewhere in the country and offers security and stability to the workforce of East Anglia.'

Following the Liberty Village announcement, a Mansell spokesman added: 'The products supplied by Anglian for this flagship contract have been of a high quality and meet the demanding standards determined by Defence Estates which are over and above those of a traditional building contract.'

The contract has also seen Anglian included on Mansell's East Anglia Region Premier Supply Chain.

Last year also saw Anglian secure or work on contracts in Carmarthenshire, Edinburgh, Bristol, London and North Lincolnshire.
