A splash of Bollywood glamour will spice up the summer show action at Cromer this year.

Dramatic song and dance from the Far Eastern film world is just part of the colourful palette of variety entertainment which will be served up to audiences heading to the resort's successful Seaside Special season.

It will also include routines from Grease, Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, and Michael Jackson - along with comedy, a electric violinist and circus-style acrobatics.

The end-of-the-pier show's blend of variety continues to draw crowds which are the envoy of many other seaside theatres.

Rory Holburn, commercial and operations director of pier managers Openwide International, said pre-season bookings were doing well at Cromer, which was not the case in other venues.

The inclusion of contemporary violinist Naomi Tagg, who put a modern spin on a classical instrument, summed up the show's aim to provide 'the best of variety in today's world.'

This year's show is headlined by father and son duo Keith and Ben Simmons for the second summer running. The vocalists are Aston Dobson and Sophie Bloom, while Hungarian Csaba Menus provides the speciality act performing in a giant 'hamster wheel' and on silks above the stage.

A School's Out youngsters show on Fridays in high summer will spotlight the beat boxing vocal noise-making talents of Cromer Find a Star winner Lee Gibling from Thorpe St Andrew, who will also do a spell in the main show in carnival week.

The cast this week toured Cromer on an open top bus, which gave Norwich City players their triumphant ride through the streets, and will run a new scenic service between Cromer and Sheringham this summer.

Seaside Special runs from June 26 to September 18. Tickets and information from the box office on 01263 512495 or www.cromer-pier.com
