Up to 40 protesters gathered in Barking town centre, in east London, as members of the 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment, which includes many soldiers from Norwich, marched through the streets.
They brandished signs with slogans including 'British Soldiers Go To Hell' and 'Muslims Against Crusades'.
As the soldiers passed, the protestors jeered 'murderers, murderers, murders' and 'British troops go to hell'.

They were met by a barrage of insults as a group of about 100 people surged out of the Barking Dog public house and surrounded them.
Men wearing English Defence League T-shirts shouted 'Scum' and 'Muslim bombers off our streets.'

The defiant protestors, who carried black flags with Arabic words on them, were showered with beer by the angry drinkers as they were led to safety behind metal barricades.
More than 400 Anglian soldiers were deployed in Helmand Province and during their six month tour of duty five members of The Vikings were killed.
They were Lance Corporal Scott Hardy, Private James Grigg, Captain Martin Driver, Private Robert Hayes and Lance Corporal Adam Drane.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said two people had been arrested for public order offences.
