Amateur actors and actresses are being sought to join a professional cast for a performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth at Norwich Cathedral.

The MOPA Theatre Company's production of Shakespeare's classic tragedy will be performed in the nave of the cathedral on Thursday, May 27.

But to create the desired dramatic impact, the company are looking for up to 12 extras to play lords and ladies in attendance to King Duncan and at Macbeth's own coronation and feast.

The participants will be fully costumed and integral to the main event.

There will be no formal auditions, but applicants will be required to complete an application form and be able to attend a costume-fitting, briefing and rehearsal in the cathedral during the day on May 27.

The performance, at 7.30pm in the evening, will be the first in a tour which takes in the cathedrals of Manchester Rochester, Leicester, Portsmouth and Norwich, and ends at Great St Mary's, the University Church in Cambridge.
