A youth group in Great Yarmouth has received a £1,000 donation from Anglian Home Improvements.

221 Air Training Corps, a charity that has links to the Royal Air Force, will use the funding to continue running its minibus.

Anglian has carried out a nationwide appeal to mark its 50th anniversary. After careful consideration by a panel of judges, which included TV and radio presenter Philippa Forrester, the 221 Air Training Corps was one of its 50 chosen causes.

The Corps promotes and encourages young men and women who have a practical interest in aviation and the RAF and to foster the spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship.

The squadron minibus is also used by the sea cadets and other local youth organisations to organise trips and activities.

The corps meets at Cadet Building, Suffolk Road, Gorleston, and for more information, call 01493 655136.
