Two youths have been accused of causing damage and intimidating staff at a family-run shop in Norwich, in an incident staff have linked to a TikTok craze.

The incident happened at Becketts, a navy and army surplus store on Dereham Road in Norwich on Wednesday.

Staff said the incident involved two boys who broke an expensive item while "messing around" in the shop.

They believe the pair were filming themselves in an effort to get reactions on TikTok.

Staff believe the same individuals have been causing problems elsewhere in the community.

A spokesman said: "The same individuals have been approaching other local businesses and members of the public, causing problems in an attempt to get reactions and likes for TikTok videos."

He added: "When asked to pay for the damage, they ran out of the store.

"During their time in the store, they were also making some very concerning and intimidating comments at the time of the incident.

"We know exactly who these individuals are, and the police have been made aware."

The spokesman added: "We’re a very small, family-run business with a small team, and when something is damaged or stolen, it isn’t a faceless corporation taking the loss.

"Deliberately messing around, refusing to take responsibility, running away, or intimidating our staff is not acceptable."
