Two men have been attacked by robbers after arranging to go dates using the Grindr app.
Officers in Norwich believe these robberies were linked with the first incident happening at 11.13am on August 21 at Gildencroft Quaker Cemetery in Chatham Street.
The meeting had been arranged via Grindr, and on arrival, the victim was assaulted, had his phone stolen and more than £1,000 was transferred into a bank account.
Grindr is described as "a location-based social networking and dating mobile application designed primarily for gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people".
A second man was targeted at 10.55am on August 29 while walking through the same cemetery where three men in balaclavas attempted to rob him.
Later that day, at 2.04pm, another victim met a man at Gunton Skateboard Park in Marl Pit Lane - they had also connected through Grindr.
During a walk through nearby woodland, the victim was assaulted by one man before two others joined in.
His phone was stolen and £3,000 was transferred to a bank account.
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and attempted robbery.
He was questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and has been released on bail to appear at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre on November 29.
Detective Chief Inspector John Beales said: "We understand these incidents may cause concern.
"We want to reassure the public that these reports are being taken extremely seriously and that we are actively investigating the offences and motives of those exploiting the app.
"We would encourage anyone who has experienced a similar incident, or has concerns about related suspicious activity linked to social media, to contact us."
Police have offered safety advice for dating app users, including meeting in public places, avoiding sharing personal information too soon and informing someone you trust about your plans.
Officers have asked for anyone who may have any relevant information to get in touch using the reference 36/62725/26.
