A search and rescue team in Norfolk had one of its busiest months on record.
Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue was called to seven incidents in August alone.
This brought the total callouts for 2026 so far to 32, surpassing the entire total for 2025 by one incident.
In August 2025, the team was called to three incidents.
The callouts involved searches for high-risk missing persons in Dereham and Lenwade, which both lasted for multiple days.
The team was also called to assist in a search in the Hellesdon Mill area, where the water and underwater team were deployed.
The organisation, run entirely by volunteers, is calling for support to ensure it remains ready to respond to emergencies.
A spokesman for Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue said: "We’re coming off the back of one of our busiest months on record, with our volunteers working hard to support people across Norfolk when they’ve needed us most.
"We’re run entirely by volunteers and your support helps us keep our team trained, vehicles maintained, boats operational and specialist equipment ready to go."
It has appealed for fundraising volunteers, connections with local businesses and donations to help maintain its operations.
