A North Norfolk fitness instructor is hoping to get more women moving to music with her outdoor silent disco walking sessions.

Emma Staples, who runs BodyBlitz Fitness, launched the Norfolk version of her WALKFit Silent Disco sessions in January 2025 after moving to the area from Kent.

Participants wear wireless headphones while walking, exercising and dancing outdoors, with sessions taking place in places including Cromer and Mundesley.

Ms Staples said the events had grown into more than a fitness activity, bringing together women for fresh air, music and friendship.

She said the groups have danced along seafronts, through town streets and on Cromer Pier, sometimes leaving passers-by curious about what they are listening to.

BodyBlitz said its first Norwich WALKFit Silent Disco event attracted 40 bookings and a waiting list, with quarterly sessions now planned in the city alongside North Norfolk dates.

Ms Staples said videos from the sessions had also attracted up to 100,000 views on social media.
