A chart-topping singer has announced she will be visiting Norwich on her tour next year.

Gabrielle, the musician behind number-one hits such as Dreams and Rise, will perform at the LCR at the University of East Anglia on April 12 next year.

She will be supported by Damage, the British R&B group best known for 1990s hits including Love II Love and Forever.

A spokesman for the LCR said: "Gabrielle continues to connect with audiences across generations.

"Still at the top of her game, she remains as passionate as ever, captivating crowds and celebrating the music that has defined her remarkable career."

Gabrielle became one of the defining British voices of 1990s pop and soul after her debut single, Dreams, reached number one in 1993.

She continued to score chart success throughout the decade, including the East 17 duet "If You Ever," before returning to the top of the singles chart with "Rise" in 2000.

Gabrielle’s profile was boosted again when Out of Reach featured on the soundtrack to Bridget Jones’s Diary in 2001, reaching number four in the UK.

Tickets go on presale next Thursday (September 3) at 9.30am.
