A pair of thieves who tried to steal hundreds of pounds worth of meat from a family's farm shop were bravely apprehended by "adrenaline-fuelled" staff.
Laura Shreeve, who owns Ozzie's Oinkers in North Burlingham with her husband Ozzy, chased after the shoplifters as they attempted to run away with £680 of meat they had swiped from its fridges and stuffed in carrier bags.
With the help of the shop's butcher Colin, the pair managed to catch the culprits before they could get to their getaway vehicle, a white van, which sped off.
"It was very dramatic," Mrs Shreeve said after the incident on Friday afternoon (August 21).
"I have just about recovered from the adrenaline rush I was on.
"Our security system alerted me to what was going on. I caught the bloke first and got all the meat off him.
"Colin, who was packaging up meat, then came running out behind me and helped.
"My sister-in-law, Amy, who lives next door to the farm, came out to see what was going on.
"The getaway driver, who was in a white van, floored it, nearly flattening her.
"She was straight on the phone to the police."
Police arrived at the scene shortly after midday and arrested Gary Morris, 57, and Sarah-Jane Morris, 47, who were taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
The couple, from Middlegate in Great Yarmouth, were subsequently charged with theft of meat valued at £680.
Ms Morris was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knuckleduster.
Ms Shreeve said she made them sit down and wait for the police to arrive "like naughty schoolchildren".
Both were released on bail to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on September 9.
"I am so proud of Laura, Colin and Amy," Ms Shreeve added.
