A teenager has been charged after a 'gun' scare in Norwich.
A member of the public approached officers in Bethel Street at 1.22pm on Thursday to report seeing someone believed to be carrying a firearm in nearby Haymarket.
Officers on patrol nearby as part of a Project Servator deployment, a UK police tactic designed to disrupt crime and terrorism, arrested a man in his late teens on Millennium Plain, near The Forum, on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm and assault.
He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Gulakbar Hanifi, 19, of Smeat Street, Norwich, has since been charged with possession of an imitation firearm and assault by beating.
He is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court tomorrow, August 22.
