A bookshop has promised to put a curse on a thief who keeps stealing graphic novels from the business.
The Book Hive, located in London Street, Norwich, has been targeted by a perpetrator who has stolen books from the shop on several occasions.
Now, as a preventive measure, the book shops says it will cast a "hex" on the thief.
Hexes are typically cast through rituals that channel negative energy.
"Yes, we’ve had to open a psychic conduit to the UK’s foremost practitioner of fictional wizardry in order to make sure that the toe-rag who keeps pinching our graphic novels stops," a spokesman for the Book Hive said.
"I mean, you’ve got good taste: we love ‘From Hell’ as much as you do, but if you half-inch it, it means that we don’t get paid, the publisher doesn’t get paid and Alan doesn’t get paid.
"In all seriousness, we’re an independent bookshop – it’s just us, without the grand supply chains, aggressive trade discounts and accounting for ‘shrinkage’ of the bigger boys.
"We pay our taxes in the UK. We pay our staff a living wage. We like what we do."
A poster put in the shop as a preventive measure has warned about the curse that could be put on the suspect.
"To whoever keeps stealing our graphic novels," it reads. "The eyes of Alan Moore see you and will hex you if you keep doing it.
"There are bigger bookshops available, or even a library - where you can take books without paying for them - legally."
The shop was nominated for a national award earlier this year.
It was up for the overall Independent Bookshop of the Year at the British Book Awards in April.
