Harford Hills House in Norwich hits the market for £1.6m

Harford Hills House is described as offering “seclusion” and privacy across three acres of land on the outskirts of the city near Marston Marsh.

It was built by architect E.S. Benest in a Victorian Gothic style, which features a thatched roof with eyebrow dormers.

The property was originally built as a hunting lodge for the Gurney family, whose banking enterprise later became part of Barclays.

The house was once home to the former Lotus Cars chairman Romano Artioli and other notable occupants, with the listing highlighting its “considerable architectural character”.

Alongside the main house, there is an independent cottage, with its own entrance from the courtyard, which includes a kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and WC downstairs and two bedrooms and a shower room upstairs.

It is being marketed by letting agents at Brown&Co for a price of £1.6 million.
