The East Anglian Air Ambulance's service based in Norwich has been rated outstanding.
It received the highest possible rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection of its city base, which serves patients across the region.
The CQC praised the charity’s culture of "empathy, teamwork, and continuous improvement" and noted that staff "showed exceptional compassion" towards patients and their families.
Victor Inyang, medical director at EAAA, said: "This Outstanding rating is a powerful reflection of the dedication, professionalism and compassion shown by every member of our team.
"Day in, day out, our crews and charity staff go above and beyond to deliver the highest standard of care to our patients.
"Patients are at the heart of everything we do, and this recognition reinforces our commitment to providing the very best care when it matters most."
The CQC also commended the service for not only following but contributing to national guidance, highlighting ongoing research into diagnosing brain bleeds and improving cardiac arrest management.
The EAAA provides advanced critical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - by air and road.
Its specialist teams deliver hospital-level treatment at the scene, including blood transfusions, pain relief, anaesthesia and emergency surgery.
