Norwich has been named as the best place in the UK to be single in 2026.
Research by AdultWork saw the city take top spot out of 346 places across England, Wales and Scotland, looking at factors key to single people.
These factors included the affordability of one-bedroom rent compared to local wages, dining and daytime venues per 10,000 adults, nightlife venues per 10,000 adults and safety.
Norwich ranked in first place due to its high number of single people and the social opportunities it offers.
According to AdultWorks data, round 65.1pc of the city’s adult population is legally single, equating to a total of 78,635 single adults living in Norwich, the eighth highest ratio in the country.
The city also scored well for socialising opportunities, boasting 650 dining and daytime venues, plus 160 pubs and bars for people to explore.
The average one-bedroom rent in Norwich is £9,360 a year, which takes up 30.5 per cent of the local median wage of £30,716, making it mid-range for affordability.
This led to Norwich achieving a final overall score of 63.78 out of 100, placing it at the top of the national rankings.
