Former Blueberry pub near Magdalen Street for sale

The former Blueberry Music House in Cowgate is up for sale after City Hall's planning committee gave the green light for the venue to be demolished in November last year.

They granted permission for 15 flats - a mixture of one and two-bedroom properties - to be built in a three-storey building to replace the pub.

The building's history can be traced back to 1836, when it was St Pauls Tavern, but its most recent use was as the Blueberry Music House.

After more than two decades, the venue closed its doors in 2019 and the building went on to fall into disrepair, with boarded-up windows covered in graffiti.

The agent marketing the property, William H Brown, describes the former pub as "a fantastic opportunity to acquire a site with full planning permission set to be issued for the development of 15 open market apartments in the city of Norwich."

The site is on the market for £500,000.

A scheme to redevelop the site was originally approved in 2021 but work had stalled partly because of the nutrient neutrality limbo which prevented the council granting permission.
