A Norwich man accused of murder after a body was found in a block of flats is set to stand trial later this year.
Arvydas Maliusis, of Recorder Road in Norwich, is suspected of killing a man who was found dead in Ipswich days before Christmas.
The 38-year-old Lithuanian national was arrested on suspicion of murder along with a 41-year-old woman.
Maliusis was subsequently charged and appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday for a preliminary case hearing.
No plea has been entered by the defendant and a provisional trial date of July 6 was fixed, with the proceedings expected to take three weeks.
A plea and trial preparation hearing has been set for April 8.
The woman has been released on conditional bail.
Police were called at about 11.35am on Tuesday, December 23 to reports that a man had been found dead inside the Mill building in College Street, by the Waterfront in Ipswich.
A Home Office post-mortem examination carried out on Christmas Eve had made the provisional findings that the man died as a result of injuries to the head, neck and face.
The incident sparked shock in the Ipswich community.
John Cook, Ipswich borough councillor for the Alexandra ward, previously said: "I'm saddened to learn of the death of a man in the College Street area.
"Ipswich residents should be reassured by the news that the police have arrested two people on suspicion of murder and are not looking for anyone else."
Rob Bridgeman, Suffolk county councillor for the Bridge division, added: "It's really shocking, especially at this time of year - it's not the news you want to hear.
"My condolences to the family of the victim, and we need to let the police carry out their investigations."
