A gang member jailed for life for murdering a Norfolk teenager has been told he cannot appeal his sentence.
Raymond James Quigley, known as James, from Wymondham, was killed in Ipswich town centre in January 2023.
Joshua Howell was jailed for life for murder with a minimum term of 20 years.
He applied to the Court of Appeal against his life sentence but it was turned down.
After hearing the result of the appeal, Mr Quigley's mother, Margaret Oakes, said: "What a relief."
Howell, 20, formerly of Wellington Street, Ipswich, was convicted as part of a joint enterprise with Alfie Hammett.
It was Hammett who stabbed Mr Quigley, 18, while Howell pulled out a machete and prevented his friends from intervening.
They were both also found guilty of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and Howell was further convicted of threatening another person with a bladed article.
The stabbing happened in broad daylight in Westgate Street.
This was the defendant’s second application for leave to appeal against sentence.

- Jan 26, 2024: Both found guilty of murder.
- Mar 11, 2024: Sentenced to life imprisonment—Hammett (24 years), Howell (20 years).
