A man arrested over protests at an asylum hotel in Norfolk has appeared in court facing separate charges of breaching a football banning order and racial abuse.
Sam Burgess, 32, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a banning order by attending the Canaries home game against QPR on December 29.
Appearing at Norwich Magistrates’ Court he denied racially aggravated harassment aimed towards another man.
Burgess, of Nelson Street in Norwich, was made subject of a banning order in November 2019 but had previously breached it by attending the Carabao Cup game with Stevenage and failing to surrender his passport before an England match.

He will stand trial for the racial offence on May 25 with the court told witnesses would include a Norwich City steward and two teenagers.
CCTV of the alleged incident is also expected to feature in the case.
Marcelino Nunez's delightful 89th-minute strike saw Norwich draw the match 1-1.
In the separate case Burgess also faces charges of burglary and a public order offence after being arrested during protests about asylum seekers outside the Brook Hotel in Bowthorpe on July 9.
