Police called to protest outside Brook Hotel, Bowthorpe

A large group of protesters were outside the Brook Hotel in Bowthorpe on Wednesday evening, which is believed to be home to asylum seekers and refugees.  

They unfurled a banner at the door which read: "Enough is enough. Stop the boats."

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary confirmed that officers were present at the protest and no arrests were made. 

"Police were called to Barnard Road, Norwich, at 7.50pm on Wednesday following reports of a group protesting outside of a business premises.  

“No arrests were made.

"Officers maintained a presence throughout the evening to ensure the safety of all involved." 

There have been several protests and counter-protests at the hotel site over the last 12 months.  

Hundreds gathered last August during widespread demonstrations across the country.
