The Belle Vue pub in Norwich's NR2 has closed again

The Belle Vue pub at the junction of St Philips Road and Stafford Street in NR2 is no longer serving pints to locals.

A sign has been stuck to the door that reads: "Unfortunately we are now closed for good.

"Thank you for your custom."

At the time, a spokeswoman said: "The Belle Vue is open and trading under a new publican after a brief closure for handover.

"Located in Norwich’s Golden Triangle, this Victorian pub is a local favourite, known for its quality cask ales, good food and welcoming atmosphere. We’re excited to continue serving the local community in such a prime location."

The Belle Vue pub is in NR2 (Image: Newsquest) Stonegate was approached about the closure of the pub, with a spokeswoman initially saying that the pub is still "open and trading, just with reduced hours at this time of year".

However, they did not comment further after being sent the closure note on the door.

The Belle Vue has had a rocky recent history, with three different tenants in three years.

The pub has had several different tenants in the last three years (Image: Newsquest) Husband and wife team Sarah and John Hinds ran the pub for two years between 2022 and 2024, leaving last summer to take over as the tenants of the Boundary in Hellesdon.

Complaints were raised about the state of the pub in 2021, with local councillor Lucy Galvin raising alarm that the tenants were "trashing" the area.

Stonegate then launched a clean-up operation with the aim of opening the pub "as quickly as possible."

Attempts have been made to contact the tenants but they have been unsuccessful.
