A person has died after being hit by a train. 

Lines between Norwich and Ipswich were blocked after a person was hit by a train on Wednesday afternoon. 

British Transport Police and paramedics were called to Needham Market and the person was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Services from Norwich to London Liverpool Street were suspended between Ipswich and Norwich but resumed at about 5.30pm. 

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
