Norwich has been named among the best cities in the UK for a "relaxing bike ride". 

Auto Trader has ranked Norwich as the UK's sixth-best location for a leisurely bike ride and the city also featured in the top 20 globally. 

The online marketplace analysed more than 32,000 routes across the UK and concluded that Norwich has 630 "leisurely cycling routes" - meaning that they are "easy" or "intermediate".

Bristol took the top spot, followed by Liverpool, Newcastle upon Tyne, Cambridge and Edinburgh. 

Erin Baker, editorial director at Auto Trader, said: “To inspire people to see more of their own city, or a city they are visiting, we wanted to see where in the UK has the highest number of recorded ‘leisurely’ bike ride routes that are suitable for beginner and intermediate cyclists. 

"Our list reveals a lovely cross-section of UK cities, from Norwich to Edinburgh, that provide the perfect conditions for leisure cyclists to explore this spring.”

It comes as Rebellion's Way, which starts and ends in Norwich, was named among the best cycling routes in the UK and Ireland.
