Norwich Samaritans will celebrate their 60th anniversary in the Bishop of Norwich's garden.

The special occasion is planned for Sunday, May 12, between 1pm and 4.30pm, giving attendees a rare opportunity to admire the first opening of the year.

The organically run garden, spread over four acres, presents a lovely selection including a wildflower labyrinth, herb garden and bamboo glade.

Refreshments and family activities to engage children will be available for purchase.

Jane Brown, director for Norwich Samaritans, said: “This is a truly wonderful garden in the city centre and we are very grateful to Bishop Graham for giving us this opportunity to be one of the nominated charities for the private gardens this year.

"We’re hoping that with all the warm weather we have had the garden will be looking beautiful in May.”

The Bishop’s Garden will sell plants, allowing visitors to interact with volunteers and understand more about the Samaritans.

An admission fee of £5 will be charged for adults, with free entry for under 16s and wheelchair users and all proceeds supporting Norwich Samaritans.
