A grade II listed city landmark could be transformed as plans are lodged to update the space and reopen it after several years.

Garsett House, a quirky pink building in Princes Street between The Halls and Cinema City, could reopen as an office block as the owner appears to have had a U-turn over plans for the site.

In February, the owner submitted plans to transform the building into housing, with Norwich City Council yet to share its decision.

A similar application, lodged in April 2023, was refused last September.

However, more plans have been submitted to the city council's planning team which could see the former office block updated and reopened.

The "modern office space" shown in the plans would see part of the ground floor transformed into a spacious and modern staff room with a new kitchen, utility room and bathroom.

The first floor will have updated office spaces, as will the third floor, with an additional bathroom.

The former merchant's house - which dates back to 1589 - has been closed to the public since it was sold to the current owner in 2022.
