A historic organ's return will be celebrated with a summer festival.

Norwich Cathedral’s Organs Reborn will be held between July 6 and 14, commemorating the first year after the organ's ambitious rebuild project.

The cathedral hopes to recruit 24 volunteer festival stewards to help manage the event and provide a warm welcome to attendees.

The festival will include performances by three Cathedral Choirs, the BBC Singers and Britten Sinfonia, and a 'Battle of the Organs'.

Master of Music Ashley Grote said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating the return of Norwich Cathedral’s historic pipe organ with our Organ Reborn 2024 Festival in July and our volunteer stewards will be an important part of the festival team.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for music fans to get involved in the musical life of the Cathedral and to gain valuable experience."

Volunteers will be required for three events throughout the festival and applications must be over 18 years old.
