Grab a slice of the action as a popular food van has secured a residency at a Norwich pub.

Pommarola Pizza now parks outside The Whalebone in Magdalen Road every Thursday to Saturday from 5pm until 9pm.

The business was launched by Sammy Wood, 42, in 2012 and he started by going to festivals with a pop-up restaurant under a gazebo.

Then during the pandemic, he pivoted the business and converted a 1965 Citroën H Van into a pizza truck to visit various Norfolk venues. 

Mr Wood, who lives in Norwich and is half Italian, said: "We put so much love into what we do and use three different types of flour in our dough - it takes up to 72 hours to prepare everything.

"I prefer doing the pop-ups and private events as you get more feedback and repeat customers."

The wood-fired pizzas on offer include a Margherita, Pepperoni and the 'Posh' with mozzarella, gorgonzola, pears, walnuts and honey and they can also adapt with vegan cheese. 

His other regular Norwich pitches are at The Reindeer in Dereham Road on Mondays from 5pm to 9pm, to coincide with the quiz night, and at Heigham Park on Tuesdays from 5pm to 8.30pm.
