An annual event supporting the return from military to civilian life for veterans and families is being held later this month.

Transitioning following service in the UK's Armed Forces often presents various challenges.

Outside The Wire, a specialist service from Norwich-based charity The Matthew Project run by veterans, offers support to current and former personnel and their families across East Anglia.

On Sunday, April 21, between 2pm and 3pm, Outside The Wire is set to host their annual Veteran Service of Reflection at St John the Baptist Cathedral in Norwich.

This event provides an opportunity for servicemen, veterans and their families, to give thanks and show collective support for the future.

Michael Gurney, the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, is expected to be in attendance and a reading by Brigadier Alasdair Wilson and other VIPs from across East Anglia is planned.

A uniformed representation from the Army, RAF and Navy, along with a bagpiper and a bugler for the last post will be present.

Military and the Royal British Legion standards will be displayed, while refreshments will be available after the service.
