A mental health charity is hosting a music festival.

The Black Dog Music Project, a user-led mental health charity based in Norwich, is set to hold Black Dog Music Fest 24.

The free event will run from 10am to 7pm on Sunday, May 12 at Wroxham Football Club's Trafford Park stadium.

Attendees will see performances by a signing choir, bands, a range of stalls, including ones manned by Norfolk mental health and disability charities, and an array of food and beverages.

The festival is being sponsored by Kingsley Healthcare, which is marking its 25th anniversary.

Sarah Gilbert, the charity's events manager, said: “We are extremely grateful for Kingsley’s support.

"The Black Dog Music Project is a friendly space for those with mental health issues and other disabilities to help members gain confidence and self-esteem through music.

"Members are encouraged to have music lessons and become part of a band if they wish.

"We currently have six bands and often perform gigs on a Wednesday evening at The Brickmakers pub in Norwich.”

The Black Dog Project's approach to support mental health sees various avenues such as providing music lessons and facilitating members in forming bands.
