A cafe and catering company has moved to bigger premises as its success allows it to grow.

The Feed is a community interest company formed in 2014 to ensure all Norwich folk can "eat well, live well and feel connected".

It was moved to Prince of Wales Road in 2018 to provide space for launching a catering business, an indoor cafe, a full kitchen to provide a supported work experience programme and office space.

However, The Feed has moved its catering operation to the Norfolk Showground after increased demand saw staff struggle to keep up with orders over the last two years.

Chris Elliott, The Feed’s marketing manager, said: "Our new venue, at the Norfolk Showground, will mean The Feed can supply more businesses and social functions with catering ranging from breakfasts to buffet lunches and cakes to canapes.

"Our combination of freshly made food, local delivery and helping our community is proving to be very popular."

Along with their cafes, including in Waterloo Park, The Feed’s catering profits are invested back into the community.

The largest of its city projects is in Hall Road, home to a social supermarket and adjoining community cafe, which provides 5,000 people with access to affordable groceries.

Following the move to the showground, city companies will still be served, but the new location makes it easier for the catering business to serve places including Dereham, Hethersett and Wymondham.

Laura Wigby, director of community investment at Norfolk Community Foundation, said:"We are excited to partner with The Feed and support their thriving catering operation.

"We have added some firepower to their move to new catering premises through a social investment loan. We are proud to play a part in the journey of this amazing local organisation making a big difference to communities in Norwich."
