It appears there may be a shortage of yellow paint in the city after a shop owner was left gobsmacked by some bizarre road lines.

Anne Martin, owner of the Great Eastern Model Railways shop in Plumstead Road, near the Heartsease roundabout, noticed the strange set of double yellow lines at lunchtime today along the slip road outside Archers butchers.

The 49-year-old said: "It's hilarious! It looks like they're doing odd jobs all over the place and it's an absolute mess.

"There's definitely no parking if your car is less than a metre long but as there's no other yellow lines visible I'm guessing we can park anywhere else along the road.

"I'm sure they'll come back and finish it but it all feels disjointed."

Norfolk County Council apologised in February after a notice reading "pedestrian access to bisinesses only" popped up outside Anne's shop.
