New analysis of HM Land Registry data has revealed the priciest streets in and around Norwich.
House prices in the city average £288,000 but many properties command much higher valuations.
On the wealthiest street, an average property is estimated to be worth £1,236,000, more than four times the £285,000 UK average house price.
Here we take a look at the seven priciest streets in Norwich according to property sale data from the last year.
1. Town Close Road
Average property value: £1,236,000
Within walking distance of the centre of Norwich, Town Close Road is situated between Newmarket Road and Ipswich Road.
The leafy street comprises of detached and semi-detached period townhouses.
The most expensive house sold for £977,000 last year and the property with the highest valuation is £1.794m.
The average property size on the road is 2,458 sq ft.
2. Lime Tree Road
Average property value: £1,136,000
A short walk from Town Close Road, the tree-lined Lime Tree Road also features attractive detached and semi-detached period properties.
From architect-designed four-bed bungalows to eight-bedroom period properties, some houses also have swimming pools.
The most expensive house sold for £1.5m last March and the property with the highest valuation is £2.128m.
The average property size on the road is 2,225 sq ft.
3. Stratford Crescent
Average property value: £1,050,000
Stratford Crescent is a private road off Colney Lane in the Cringleford area of the city.
Close to the University of East Anglia, the crescent mainly consists of large detached houses with well-sized gardens and lawns.
The most expensive house sold for £815,000 in June 2017 and the property with the highest valuation is £1.867m.
The average property size on the road is 2,077 sq ft.
4. Claremont Road
Average property value: £985,000
Off Newmarket Road, many of the properties in Claremont Road are Edwardian houses built in the early 1900s.
The road is just over a mile from the pedestrianised city centre and convenient for the Southern Bypass and the University of East Anglia.
The most expensive house sold for £800,000 in October 2006 and the property with the highest valuation is £1.394m.
The average property size on the road is 2,516 sq ft.
5. Newmarket Road
Average property value: £930,000
The A11 Newmarket Road is one of the main roads into the city.
This long road in the Golden Triangle area has an eclectic mix of property styles including detached, semi-detached and terraced houses as well as flats.
From charming Victorian terraces to grand Edwardian detached properties with swimming pools, Newmarket Road has the largest properties on average in Norwich.
The most expensive house sold for £1.65m in May 2017 and the property with the highest valuation is £1.915m.
The average property size on the road is 2,627 sq ft.
6. Judges Walk
Average property value: £912,000
A quiet leafy street between Unthank Road and Newmarket Road in the Golden Triangle area of southwest Norwich, Judges Walk is just under a mile and half away from the city centre.
Comprised mainly of detached houses, the street is also close to the village of Eaton as well as Town Close Preparatory School, Norwich High School for Girls and City of Norwich School.
The most expensive house sold for £1.325m in June 2021 and the property with the highest valuation is £1.451m.
The average property size on the road is 2,408 sq ft.
7. The Crescent
Average property value: £908,000
The Crescent is a wedge-shaped private road just off Chapelfield Road in the heart of the city centre and is near the Theatre Royal and Chapelfield Gardens.
Only two properties have been sold in the last five years and the street includes a row of seven Grade II listed terrace houses that were built around 1820.
The most expensive house sold for £785,000 in September 2020.
The property with the highest valuation at £1.182m was last sold in October 1998 for £250,000.
The average property size on the road is 2,158 sq ft.
