From road closures to bar expansions, here are a number of important public notices for people to be aware of across Norfolk this week.

1. Closure of Mill Road, Mattishall

Mill Road, in Mattishall, will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians from March 11 to March 15 while maintenance works are carried out to the road's carriageway and drainage system.

People living in Mill Road will be permitted pedestrian access.

The work will cost around £7,880 and will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and its contractors.

2. Plumstead Road, Thorpe End, closed for resurfacing

Part of Plumstead Road, at Thorpe End, will be closed for resurfacing for three days from March 20.

The closure will be in place from 330m west and 20m east of the level crossing.

The damaged and worn-out road surface will be removed and replaced, causing a full daytime road and cycleway closure between 7am and 6pm.

A fully signed diversion route will be in place via Woodside Road, Salhouse Road, Broadland Northway and Thorpe End Drive.

Vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained for people living within the closure but there may be short delays at times.

The work will cost approximately £85,000 and will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and its contractors.

3. Butcher Bhoy plans for Dove Lane expansion

Butcher Bhoy has submitted a licence application to Norwich City Council for the area above the pub in 13 Dove Street.

If the application is successful, the new area will become joined to the pub by moving the staircase around and would serve a range of cocktails with an "Irish twist".

The application also states plans to host live music and that the opening hours would be the same as Butcher Bhoy.

4. Closure of Sprong Bridge, Beetley

The B1110 Dereham Road will be closed from March 18 until March 22 while essential repairs to its damaged parapet fences and brickwork are carried out.

The main B1110 Dereham Road will be closed from its junction with B1145 Brisley Road to its junction with B1146 Fakenham Road.

The closure will be in place 24/7 due to the narrow road width over the bridge.

The fully signed diversion route will take drivers along the Holt Road, Dereham Road, Brisley Road, Elmham Road, Church Street, Stanfield Road and Fakenham Road.

The work which will cost £4,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and its bridge contractors Tarmac.

5.  Closure of Bank Loke cut-through, North Walsham

The cut-through between North Walsham's Market Place and the Bank Loke car park will be closed for three days from March 18.

The path will be resurfaced as part of a continued project to make the town a more pedestrian-friendly space.

A signed diversion will be in place, redirecting pedestrians from Bank Loke car park on to Grammar School Road and up to Yarmouth Road before looping back to Market Place.

The High Street Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) works are being funded by Historic England, the New Anglia LEP and North Norfolk District Council. 

The work to Bank Loke will cost £12,000 and will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and its contractors.
