Great Yarmouth Heritage Guides are starting their season in February half term with a Yucky Yarns walk.

The family-friendly interactive walk will be led by ‘Jemima Black’, the custodian of the big book of Yarmouth Yucky Yarns who will tell children about the horrendous history of Great Yarmouth.

The walk covers gory stories, ghastly goings on with pirates, graveyard tricks and a secret chest.

It is on Wednesday, February 21 and starts at 11am by meeting at the front gates of Great Yarmouth Minster.

Aimed at primary school-aged children, the walk lasts about one hour and comes with an activity book to complete, so families are urged to bring a pen or pencil.

A Yucky Tea is also scheduled for Sunday, July 28, and Thursday, October 31, both starting at 2pm. These will include the Yucky Yarns walk and then a yucky-themed afternoon tea at Kirsty’s Cakery in the town.
