A barber chain with more than 40 UK sites has revealed plans for a new premises in Norwich. 

Gould Barbers, which originated in King's Lynn, is set to open a shop in the Tesco Extra supermarket in Blue Boar Lane, Sprowston.

The site, which will be the company's first in Norwich, will open on Thursday to become the 43rd Gould barber shop in the country.

Founders Darran and Leigh Gould said: "As a business originating in Norfolk we couldn't be more excited to bring our convenient and high quality service to people of all ages in Norwich.

"To celebrate we’re offering free haircuts for the first week of opening!”

Originally trained to be barbers by their father, the pair have been cutting hair for more than 25 years.

In that time, they have gone from working in an eight-chair barber shop in King's Lynn to now running the UK's largest barbering brand.

The King's Lynn site opened back in 2013 and the business now has premises from Bournemouth to York.
