Revealed: Norwich locals' favourite street in the city

 As chosen by you, here are some of your favourite streets in Norwich.

1) Elm Hill

It wouldn't be a list of Norwich's prettiest streets without mentioning Elm Hill. 

The idyllic cobbled road, a favourite of Hollywood film sets, is trapped in history transporting anyone back in time. 

The hill is also home to stacks of great independent shops that call the Tudor street their home, making it one of the prettiest streets in the entire UK.

2) Lower Goat Lane

The meandering street in the heart of the city is a perfect example of what The Lanes are about.

The street is full of independent shops, cafes and restaurants offering everything from a falafel bar, board game cafe and a lifestyle shop.

3) Upper St Giles

The stylish street sits just out of the city centre towards the catholic cathedral.

Although only short, the street is full of facades that bring the road to life.

With an artisan bakery, award-winning coffee shops and a local deli, the street punches well above its weight offering something for everyone.

4) Norwich Quayside

The colourful houses that sit on the banks of the River Wensum have come to be a Norwich landmark, stopping many passers-by in their tracks.

On one side a large willow tree brushes the river below. On the other, a row of buildings lines its water with the cathedral spire looming in the distance.

5) Cathedral Close

The home of Norwich Cathedral is renowned for being a picture postcard 'village in a city'.

As you step through the arch from Tombland you are met with the calmness of the close, surrounded by beautiful period cottages and cherry blossom trees.

The cathedral is also home to Bread Source in the refractory giving you a chance to grab a coffee and croissant as you explore the grounds.
