People around the world gather to celebrate the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns on January 25,
It is traditional to enjoy a supper of haggis with 'neeps and tatties' while reading Burns’ poems and enjoying a wee dram of whisky.
Here are five of the venues where you can celebrate the poet’s 265th birthday in Norwich tomorrow.
The Britons Arms
Nestled in a listed Medieval building on the corner of Elm Hill, this coffee house and restaurant will be hosting a cosy Burns Night supper.
Chef Richard Ellis will be preparing a traditional menu featuring cock-a-leekie soup, haggis, neeps and tatties, with cranachan trifle for dessert.
The night will finish with a warming tot of Bunnahabhain single malt whisky, with tickets costing £40 per person.
Wright’s Cafe
The Bank Plain cafe is hosting its first supper club. Alongside three courses of traditional Scottish fayre, guests can expect poetry, bagpipes, and the stabbing of the haggis.
Chivas whisky will be on offer as owner Adam hopes to build on the success of the ‘raucous’ Burns Night celebrations previously held at their sister site in Bury St Edmunds. Tickets are £37.50.
Yalm
Norwich chop house On The Bone will be providing the haggis, neeps and tatties at the Royal Arcade foodhall.
Alistair Wilson of Enotria Spirits will also guide guests through three blends of Bladnoch whisky in Yalm’s private dining room, for £25 each.
Pogue Mahon’s
There will be "comedy, cabaret and chaos all with a Scottish twist" on the menu at the Prince of Wales Road pub.
Drag artists Zoe Promiscuous and Stealia Jobs will serve up their fabulous Burns Night celebration, Queens of Scots. Tickets are £10.
The Rosebery
The NR3 pub will be getting out the kilts and tartan as they celebrate Burns Night with a Scottish tap takeover and whisky flights.
The Blues Kitchen will be on hand to cook up some Scottish specials too.
