A man has been arrested after a stolen Mitsubishi was involved in a crash in Norwich.

Police were called to Riverside Road at 6.30pm on January 15 after a black Mitsubishi Mirage crashed into parked cars. 

When officers arrived they found the driver of the car had fled the scene.

The Mitsubishi had been reported as stolen a short while earlier.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on January 18 on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving without insurance or a licence, failing to report and failing to stop after an accident.

He was taken to Wymondham Police Station for questioning and was later released on bail.
