New details have emerged of a new bar and restaurant that could open soon in the heart of Norwich city centre.

It was revealed last month that a planning application had been lodged to open premises in the former Al Dente restaurant in St Giles Street under the name First Draft Bar and Kitchen.

The proposal came just six months after the closure of Al Dente and if approved would serve food and accompanying drinks, including cocktails, wine and beer.

First Draft Bar and Kitchen is the brainchild of couple Dan and Daisy Larkan, 30 and 32, who are launching it as a pop-up style restaurant which will feature a hired bar team and guest menus.

Daisy said: "My husband and I have always wanted to start a family business and our passions overlap in food and drink.

"We've both worked in bars before but we're foodies who don't have an enormous amount of skill in the kitchen so we're super excited to create a venue that can act as a platform to showcase other chefs' talent.

"We really hope our bar and kitchen will help us bed into the community and contribute to shaping the future of the foodie scene here."
