A city theatre is offering 500 free tickets to an award-winning stage play.

Norwich Theatre Royal is giving away tickets to showings of The Woman in Black next week in honour of its original producer Peter Wilson who passed away last year.

Mr Wilson was a "passionate advocate" for engaging young people with theatre and 500 tickets will be given to schools and community groups in the area to mark his contribution to the arts.

The city theatre said of the offer: "The Woman in Black has been many young people's first experience of seeing live theatre and Peter was passionate about extending access to theatre to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to go.

"We therefore hope to celebrate Peter's legacy by bringing this legendary production to a new generation of theatregoers at a theatre and city that was so special to him."

The MBE recipient was previously the chief executive of Norwich Theatre Royal and served as Vice Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk until his death in September.
