A city chef has shared her ideas for making the most of your Christmas dinner leftovers.
Avril Read has been a chef for more than 40 years, and has her fair share of tricks when it comes to making food taste great.
She said: “I always use my leftovers to reduce my waste costs.

“What is the point in buying more food for the Christmas period when you can make another one, possibly even two meals from Christmas Day leftovers?
“As a society, we waste so much food and we buy way too much for two days.”
So, Avril has tasty ideas which use the ingredients left over from Christmas Day and Boxing Day to repurpose the food into a new and exciting dish so it never feels like eating leftovers.

She said: “My most commonly used one is using leftover meat to make Turkey and Ham Pie, and I always use the leftover vegetables to make bubble and squeak.
“Then after the classic evening picky tea cheese board, I would probably use the leftover cheese to make a tasty Mac and Cheese.
“For those people feeling super adventurous Christmas Pudding ice cream is very tasty.”
